oil burner cutting out after 30 seconds after oil fill

boiler is a Clyde Climatic 30 (not a combi)

hi all

I hope you are well and hope you can help me

I moved to this house 3 months ago and all has been well with the heating. the oil got very low in the tank last week so ordered a fill which was delivered today.

turned the heating on, and it heated the first radiator and the hot water tank (not hot, but nice and warm). however, it then cut out. I pressed the big red button on the boiler hoping it might do something but nothing.

i turned it off at the switch in the garage and on again and it fired up again and went off at 30 seconds

the pipes at the boiler are warm....

I gave the pump a manual power feed but I can not hear it running... should I?

I found a single article on how to bleed it, and I did that but only a little fuel came out, no air.

any thoughts?
