Hi All

Need to put in some Concrete Fence Posts at some point & have found 2 bags of Cement in the shed. Am not sure how long this stuff lasts, it has been there for a long time (18 Months) but is still soft and dry.

Would this still be ok for the posts or is it a lost cause? Thanks.

Salem.

as a rule of thumb, if the cement is free from lumps that cannot be easily broken in the fingers, it's OK to use.

Concrete laid into the ground usually stays damp indefinitely. This is very good as it allows it to reach its ultimate strength. This is typically twice as strong as concrete that is only left damp to cure for a week or two.
