A strip of the old felt although fairly sound has torn away from the rafter along the line of the rafter (along it's edge) for about 1.5m. Any suggestions for fixing it back in place? I was thinking of using a bit of 2 x 1, stapling a strip of bitumen tape along the 1" edge, sticking the felt (which is hanging down still fixed ok under the adjoining batten) onto the tape, and screwing the 2 x 1 up tight to the roof battens to the rafter. There are no leaks. I don't know if there is a product which fits between the rafters just for such a purpose. Other suggestions welcome as someone has done this before I'm sure. Thanks.
