Hi All,

Have been reading these boards for a while & this is first post.

After our CH & HW went wrong, I used previous posts to decide that it was the motorised valve at fault & changed it yesterday. System now works fine... except that the pilot light on the boiler goes out every now & then.(Although I think it must happen on boiler firing or shutdown). Once the pilot is re-lit everything works fine again.

The boiler hasn't been serviced for ages, (it's getting one next week), but could it be that I have caused this problem by changing the valve or is it coincidence?

Have also read threads about the Ideal WLX & it's simplicity & from what I've seen there is'nt much to go wrong with it, (Casing seals?).

Any thoughts would be welcome & thanks for the info already given!

cant see a mv upsetting a pilot.

a service should solve problem as its more than likely that the pilot injector is partially blocked

A proper service that is!

Few services even clean the pilot though.
