Just following up on another recent post I have a fireplace that im trying to clean but the fireplace in question has been built inside an original inglenook fireplace.
So the original opening has been made smaller with a small open fire have you any suggestions why someone would do this ?
I assume it would just be a case of removing to new (ish) fire to expose the old inglenook (is it worth the bother ?

probably not . Ingles tend to be notoriously smokey without (.either) what you have or a similar large metal hood ( or a chimney fan) ;)
