Old roofing membrane. Possible Asbestos?

Was it common for the roofing underlayment beneath the tiles to contain asbestos. Garage built in 1930s. Guess I need to get it tested

I always thought it was some of the external mineral flat roof felts that had ACM’s. if you are just installing eaves trays/extra layer of felt then usually it’s not notifiable for underfelt unless you are stripping the whole lot out.
 
its old 1F Traditional undertile felt (slaters felt), manufactured from hessian fibres coated with bitumen was used on thousands of properties over many decades
