Old stone wall

We have an old wall along one side of our garden. An attempt by us to point some of it last year with stuff B&Q recommended was a disaster. It came up white so we stopped. Where did we go wrong? The wall is very old

Any idea what they give you ? it looks like exterior filler - what a mess.

You need some cement and learn ow to do some 'pointing' it is pretty easy to do and you will soon be able to get a proper finish.
