I know, but artex is a pain, these panels will just pull off the wall.

Actually I would put the whole "media wall" trend into the same category as artex.
And people need to stop putting the TV above the fireplace -- its too high for the natural comfortable rest position for your eyes.
Generally the optimum height is put the bottom of the TV at the same height as your eyes from your viewing position. Sit on the sofa and measure. Unless you have a 50 foot living room

My TV is high ish but I like it as when I'm reclined watching a film it's perfect

Thats a good idea actually - a system whereby you can slide the TV height up or down depending on your position - dinner on a tray compared to laying down on the sofa
