one cold radiator, both pipes cold too.

its just the one downstairs radiator.

I have checked to see if it needs bleeding - it doesn't
I've checked the TRV - pin pops up and down when pressed

I've noticed both pipes leading out of the ceiling to the radiator are both stone cold.

Any advise please? I'm trying to find the problem so I don't have to pay a fortune for someone else to work it out.

Has this just occured or has it always been like that? Check other valve is open (lockshield) - turn anticlockwise.

If it is open then you may have a blockage on that circuit.

this has just occurred.

After reading other threads this is what I've just done:

turned all other TRVs down and opened the radiator valve to full, whacked the heating on, and now it is hot!

However, even though the other valves are down, the radiators were way too hot to touch.

could this have been a blockage that made the hot water back up until it was cleared?

sounds like you had an air lock, turn them all back on and see how it goes, if your rads are too hot then try turning your boiler stat down a bit.
