optima 701 air control damper

FERROLI OPTIMA 701 COMBI
when on DHW sequence fine ie flow switch changes fan speed to high which operates micro switch,main flame on.
switch then intermitantly falls out then switches back in
I suspect the control flap operating incorrectly
( it is called an air control damper item 31 in manual) does the damper have a control spring?or does it rely on gravity ?to close any one know
any coments I would be grateful for.
