I am having issues which have baffled me all day!

I managed to get a replacement sounder for my G3, wired it as stated and everything works except the actual sound!

I have checked the terminal B output at the panel and it seems to be around 4.9V before triggering and 0.5v when triggered.

For some reason this is not activating the bell...

I have fiddled around with the dip switches in the bell and just cant get it to trigger. It is driving me insane.

I currently have from the panel

T - -Ve tamper return disconnected while testing although I have tried it connected
A - -Ve supply (0V) to hold- on bell
D - +Ve supply (12V) to hold+ on bell
B- -Ve Sounder trigger to trig on bell

Which is exactly how the manual and all online info says to do it. Anyone know what i'm doing wrong?

Bell trip should go to 0volts on activation ,so with one probe on your multimeter on 12v+ and the other on the bell trip wire at activation it should read around 13.80 volts

Thanks for your reply, I have it all working now.

I wired it all back up last night and put the replacement panel back up battery in (which was initially pushing 12v) before closing it all up and giving up for the evening, I assume the battery would have been charging overnight inside the panel and is probably up to the full voltage now.

I tested the system this morning and everything is working fine. I haven't checked the battery output but it is the only thing I changed!

Not sure why that had any bearing on the bell functioning, but it seems it did.

Anyway, by luck more than judgement, it's sorted. :)

The bell box may have an engineer hold off function stoping it from ringing for a pre set time .which may haved then timed out
