The other night while I was enjoying my beauty sleep dead to the world the Mrs woke me up with a dig to the ribs to tell me the alarm was sounding.

I ran downstairs thinking the dog would have somebody pinned to the wall (which he didn't) and entered my code into the alarm which shut it up.

After checking the dog was ok and rubbing my eyes I noticed I had armed the alarm by entering the code and entered my code again to disarm it.

We never use the alarm so thought it strange it had sounded.

The alarm has sounded 3 times now for no apparent reason with tonight being the latest while I was making my bedtime brew.

Is this a common problem with the Optima XM type?
Is there an easy fix to stop it sounding randomly?
I'm not sure if it sounds outside as I always in a rush to shut it up a silly times in the morning.

As I said we never use it and I only ever need to input the code after a power cut to shut it up.

1st Replace the standby battery in the control panel.

This may also cause the problems you are having with the alarm activations.

Hope this sorts out your problem
