As from Jan 8th they are hiking their prices up because they aren't making enough money, they have also said 'customers will not be able to use this to get out of contracts', well watch me!!

Hello Crank, long time since you've been on mate. Still working I hope. :wink: :wink:

Orange??? Pure greed by them. :wink: :wink: :wink:

I'm in the same position - I will read the fine print of my agreed contract. If they don;t state that they can break the terms of our "fixed" payments, then as far as I'm concerned they are in breach of contract and have set a precedent to allow me to change the terms according to my own criteria.

This was on the news the other day and apparently it's in the T&C's.

From their T&C's

4.3 You may also terminate your Contract if we vary its terms, resulting in an excessive increase in the Charges or changes that alter your rights under this Contract to your detriment. In such cases you would need to give us at least 14 days written notice prior to your Billing Date (and within one month of us telling you about the changes). However this option does not apply if:
4.3.1 we have increased the Charges by an amount equal to or less than the percentage increase in the All Items Index of Retail Prices published by the Central Statistical Office in the Monthly Digest of Statistics in any 12 month period;

Okey dokey, but since all of my (5) contracts will run out withing the next 12 months, they will lose all of them as I relocate elsewhere and take my broadband account with me. Short term gain for them, but long term loss.

Hi John, you know i've been so stacked out with work this year, get home from work tired and all i seem to do is write reports to insurance companies, also been doing a fair few 'Certass' inspections too, its slowed just a little so i thought i'd make a reappearance

You can cancel your contract if you think the price increase is of material detriment.

If they wont, get in touch with Ofcom, im sure their regulations state that providers cant make an increase on the price of an agreed contract.

If I was with Orange, the direct debit would be cancelled straight away.

I can't remember the time I last physically signed or verbally agreed to a contract.
