Well PDAs are mainly either Palm based or Pocket PC. The former uses a Palm OS and the latter a Microsoft Windows OS.

It kind of depends what you want to use it for. You mention GPS - which both Palms and Pocket PCs are perfectly capable of running. But obviously you want:

(i) a large screen
(ii) a good quality screen (most new PDAs are up to scratch here)
(iii) Builtin bluetooth
(iv) good battery life.

Personally I use a palm (Tungsten T3 - modded to take a 1200mAh battery) as I like the range of software available for them. But pocketpcs are getting popular now and several manufacturer make good units. Try www.brighthand.com for good reviews and advice in their forums. Dell are obviously good value - especially when you get something during their periods of heavy discount. People criticise their service but personally I find them fine (for PC and monitor stuff).

Good luck.
