OSO 20 indirect unvented hot water tank

The noisy valve is passing water from cold to hot; it must be repaired or replaced. These showers should all have their cold supplies taken from the balanced pressure cold offtake on the pressure reducing set for the cylinder. Failure to do this is regrettably a common mistake.

What bit in the shower valve is likely to have failed? Its a grohetherm 3000, 34968. There is no leak etc from the shower head.
Thanks

It would be worth having a look inside the valve. One of the nrv's may have failed as mm has stated. It could be a faulty housing. I'm not familiar with the valve so cannot advise further.
Its quite a challenge navigating their web site alone.

The pressure reducing valve on the cylinder is non adjustable the little green section just shows what its set at.

The inlet filter may be clogged a common problem this accounts for the initially high pressure then dropping off ( standing pressure equal throughout,
under flow reduced through the filter and reduces down)

You just need a decent experianced plumber, incidently the air gap on oso cylinders is easily recharged if it was dripping through the tundish no need for external pv, sounds like the chap youve got is lacking experiance in uv cylinders.

You need to check the set up as described in the installation instuctions for your particular cylinder, fitted a fair few Oso's and the pressure reducing were preset. yours may be different but does sound like the inlet filter to the valve may be slightly blocked with debris.
