Are there any any regulations regarding the proximity and location of an outside Light switch to a Gas Meter Enclosure ? The outside Light is obviously mains powered.

If you mean a gas meter housing, then I’d say you’re ok. The regulations state that gas pipes must be 25mm away from sockets, switches cables etc but 150mm away from switchgear. If this isn’t achievable then it can be separated by a non conductive material, eg plastic. What material is the enclosure?

How many gas meters share the same cupboard as the consumer unit and service head for the main incoming feed for the electricity supply inside a house ?

Probably better to use a proper IP rated switch outside the gas meter cupboard

All items have an IP rating!
So what’s your point?
Well, as the OP has described the switch as being “outside” I would suggest that a switch with an IP rating of at least IP66 would be appropriate.

The Switch to be fitted is rated at either IP66 or IP67, cant remember which ? And will be located out side the plastic Gas Meter Housing at about 4 or 5 inches away. There is only one Gas Meter.
So good to go then.
