Outer wall goes right up to inbetween rafters - no air gap

I'm working on our roof - replacing bottom section of underlay and other things - and I see that the outer wall comes up and is at the same level as the rafters.

Should I remove a few bricks from the top of the wall inbetween the rafters so that air can get up into the roof? Haven't had problems with condensation but I guess it does get hot in top rooms in summer.

There's also no insulation on this whole section.

Thanks
