As some of you will know im installing some outside lights on my farm.

Been looking on TLC website and they sell NYY-J cable which appears to be perfect for the job.

From searching on here, seems Hituf cable is simular but used more often than NYY-J.

Is there any reason for this? Was wondering if there is and advantages I'm not aware of?

Just to confirm I'm clipping the cable direct to wood / metal for some floodlights.

Hi tuff is double layered sheath, NYY is single sheath.

Thus NYY is easier to work with has better mbr and a smaller profile.

Agree. Hi-Tuf is a right PITA in cold weather. It will stay the shape of the reel that it came on (eg resembling a coiled spring!).

Thanks for the replies.

If NYY-J is easier to use may I ask why it's hardly mentioned on here and always the Hituf cable that seems to be used?

Thanks in advance.

Just to add, my main reason for asking is because it seems TLC has stopped selling Hituf cable.
