Outside rendering mix

Hi guys

I plan to render a piece of frost damaged outside wall. What mix would be best and what materials ?
Do I make good the flaked off fronts of some of the damaged bricks with ordinary sand & cement first ?

You have to say what is already on the wall(s) and/or post pics.

Its of no use applying some incompatible mix, or even patching up unless the extent of any damage, and the kind of background is reasonably clear to us.
