My mother just had an external pir security light fitted to the house. As far as I can tell the electrician has taken a feed directly from the fuse box. Not sure if it is on its own fuse or on an existing lighting circuit.

Can anyone tell me if regs. require an isolation switch or not?

Many PIR lights have a "Pulse Override" mode, so you can turn the light on for extended periods. You need a switch to invoke this option.

Layzeeeeeeee cowboy.
