Hi
I am not very technical.
I live in a new build house ....5 years old. I have an outside security light facing the patio. It is the same or similar to an INGRIKT 20W Security Light with Motion Sensor.
It has only been switched on a very few times in the last 5 years. Tonight I switched it on from inside the house and it didn't come on. I checked outside and there was a very low blinking light coming from it but it didn't fully light up as it should.
Is the problem that it needs the bulb to be replaced or does it just need to be reset by someone who knows how to do that?
Any help appreciated.
Thanks.

You'll need a new floodlight.

Straight forward job, you will need to remove the wires from the old light and connect them up to the new one.

Hi Thanks for your response.
When you say "a new floodlight" does that mean just the equivalent of a bulb to replace the dud one.... not the full unit?
Will it need an electrician?
Thanks.

The vast majority of modern floodlights are sealed units, so when they fail the only solution is to throw the old one away and buy a complete new unit.

So much for reducing waste

The whole floodlight will need to be replaced.

If you're confident in swapping it for a new one then you can do it yourself.

Something like this would be a good swap.

Once you order it, let us know so we'll guide you on how to wire it.

If not, then an electrician is all what you need.

Replace the whole fitting wiring the new one like for like. Some of them are almost cheap as a new bulb
