Our oven extractor hood stopped working years ago (not a fuse, we checked). Putting the house up for sale soon and considered having this replaced but afraid that doing so will damage the tiles. Is it worth bothering to replace it or leave it as it is?

If it is the recirculating type, then no, but the buyers solicitor will ask if you know of any faults. If the buyer is likely to replace the kitchen units then I would be inclined to tell them it wasn't working & see what they say.
