Thanks for the feedback. It's always interesting to know whether we divine correctly or not. But you said at the beginning -
I take it that you meant the vent pipe rather than the overflow pipe (the one to outside)? Otherwise it would indicate a blocked feed pipe, as I suggested, which you don't appear to have.
