Hi,

I have just moved house and have noticed that some mornings when the Boiler switches off the pump keeps running for as long as an hour.

This doesn't happen every day, but definitely does happen somedays, at the moment only the Hot Water is being heated as there is no need for Central Heating.

The system is pumped Central Heating and pumped Hot Water from a conventional Boiler (not a combi-boiler).

Should I be worried? Any comments would be appreciated, cheers.

You probably have a pump overrun stat fitted in the boiler this will run the pump untill the boiler temp is below around 55c. If you have thermostatic rad valves fitted it will take the boiler longer to cool down as rads (thermo rad valves sense room temp not rad temp) will be off. fully open a couple of rad valves to act as a heat sink
