Need to get another over sink water heater for the utility room as the one in place at the moment just delivers cold water ..
It is 3kw, 5 litre capacity and l have been looking on line at similar over-sink water heaters.
What l would like to know is looking at these heaters some give capacitys they hold and some say instant, what is the difference.
What are the best over sink water heaters to use.. capacity hold or instant  ... Seen some instant 3kw heaters around £50/60 and would just like some help and advice before going ahead and buying one..

The instant one's you've probably seen a £50/£60 are more likely only hand wash heaters.
No good for filling a sink etc.

One's that hold 5, 7, 10 ltrs etc are capable of filling sinks etc and have a better flow rate than a trickle you get from a hand wash unit.

If you want a faster flow rate and instant you need more of a 9kw

Have you checked yours it's more likely only a failed element or thermal fuse.

How can l check for a failed element, where is the thermal fuse usually to be found..

So will a instant over sink water heater keep giving hot water while turned on as the one l have already which holds 5 litre capacity goes cold after 30/45 seconds..

How can l check for a failed element
Check across the heating element terminals for resistance with a multi meter.

where is the thermal fuse usually to be found..
Useally om the live feed to the heating element.
What water heater is it ?

Yes a stored water heater only produces hot water till the water runs out and then has to reheat if you run them at a fast flow rather than trickle.
As with say a 9kw will produce constant hot water but needs a cable upgrade and on it's own cable supply.
A 3kw can be on a fcu.

It's a heatstore HS55/3/7N if that's any help......

Yes i know it.
The thermal fuse is on the live wire between thermostat and element.
