No, it will not make a difference and check valve still will not work. The water supply to bath / shower need to be equal pressure.
The only way is put the cold feed on main and get rid of the storage tank or connect the bath cold feed straight from main.

the problem didn't start happening immediately after the combi boiler was fitted but after an engineer came to service it. He changed some parts and then it started to happen. Also, the temperature indicator shows 70 degrees when the water is used is that normal? could the high temperature be part of the problem somehow?
