Hi,
Have a beloved Ford Puma (R) reg. Has worked wonderfully up till now. Drove to London on Saturday, heard odd few weird clicky noises then the engine started to overheat. No leaks. As soon as car stationary it cooled, then on acceleration over heated again with odd few 'click' noises. Nursed it home, am obviously gonna take to garage but as a female do not want to get ripped off. Anybody any ideas as to what it is? Like I say, no leaks. Water full, obviosly very hot on stopping and unscrewing water cap. HELP!!!!

Hi.
Sorry to say it could be a few things causing it to overheat, sticking thermostat, faulty water pump, blockage in the system(radiator).Overheating the engine can cause all sorts of problems in it's self
If you don't know any one that is handy with cars ,you will just have to rely on a garage report,if you don't like what they say ,get a second opinion and decide from there.
Good luck with it.

;)

Hi Jonny,
Thanks for the help. Took to garage and it was the thermostat...all fixed, fingers crossed :D
