I saw some rolls of embossed which can be painted in B&Q.I have always used Anaglypta but it is £2 a roll dearer. The B&q stuff looks acceptable-will it do the job as well.It will be used in a bathroom with poor walls which have been lined with 1000 grade paper.Any advice will be most welcome thanks

Are you talking traditional paper Anaglypta here or blown vinyl?...the reason I ask is lot of people use 'anaglypta' as a generic term for all embossed papers.

I mean the branded Anaglypta rather than a generic. The BQ stuff I saw was £2:99 a roll and was a suitably understated pattern, and as always I am operating on a budget. It will not get a deal of abrasion and will be used in a bathroom with rough walls.

If its not branded Anaglypta. When you have soaked it and start to put it on the pattern will almost certainly dissapear. Ideally use a blown vinyl, even the cheap ones are quite good.

Yep..I agree for that money it sounds like an embossed paper, which Anaglypta also is technically but its a duplex which means more than one layer of paper..the back takes the paste and slows it down, preventing it from reaching the face of the paper (providing you dont over soak it)

If you want it to be super dooper durable paint it with oil based paint.
