Hi folks,
Dining rooms just been replastered.Whats the best undercoat to use.
Watered down emulsion(is it 50/50),PVA or standard primer.Think
this questions been asked a few times but many opinions.
Don't ever use PVA to prime a wall before emulsioning. Use a watered down MATT emulsion, or a plaster sealer. It will tell you on the tin how much to thin down emulsion for new plastered/absorbent surfaces.
Always let each coat of emulsion dry completely before you apply the next one, even if it means putting the next coat on the day after, if it's really slow to dry. If you try and rush it, you can ruin the job.... Open the windows and let the draught in, that'll help it dry, or maybe a "little" background heat.
