paint problem

hi, first time poster looking for some help. i'm decorating my daughters bedroom, we have stripped the wallpaper of the wall successfully. we have a mixture of exterior walls and plasterboard int and the all have very patchy and flaky coat of paint left behind. we were going to re- wallpaper but couldn't find what we wanted so decided to paint.what can anyone suggest? we have bought some polycell basecoat but haven't used it yet

Thanks for the reply, looking at the pictures from the other topic its a very similar problem except our walls look alot worse. i am trying to upload some pictures. i did try the polycell base coat over a patch of wall but you can still see it. we've had the same problem in most of the rooms we have decorated with no real satisfactory results, including lining paper.

If yours is worse you could use something like Easi-fill with a taping knife to level out the areas and sand smooth before painting/papering.
