Hi all
I am going to ask a stupid question but I am a newbie so please no abuse.
I want to get a paint roller grid as I am not good with using a paint roller tray (don't seem to get enough paint of the roller)
My stupid question is this - how exactly do I use the grid? Does it fit in a tub with the paint or do i use a separate bucket to remove the excess paint.
I do not understand how it works because if i just use the one bucket doesn't the paint come half way up the grid?
Also can some one advise on a good grid please?
Many thanks and I said that the question was going to be stupid to all you pros

Jesus wept.

As a decorator I would not allow the end caps of the roller to be submerged in paint. It increases the the risk of excess paint build up at the edge of the roller and potential lines.

A 9" roller will fit into a 10L tin, and in theory the grid will work, but unless you constantly mist the tin, you may get dry paint that falls back into the tub as the job progresses.

The dry pint on the lid annoys me as it is, but what are you going to do with with the grid at the end of each day? You can't put the lid back on with it in place. Are you going to spend 10 minutes washing it each day?

Why not purchase an appropriately sized roller tray or skuttle? You can store either in a bin bag with the roller
