How long should I wait after skimming a wall before I can fix skirting and paint the wall?

Depends how long it takes to dry really.....if its only a skim then it shoujld only take a few days in this weather.
Give it 5 days and you should be fine....
Having said that Dulux now make a paint for new plaster that you can apply while its still a little damp..
I'd rather wait to its dry meself.
