painting concrete blocks

hi all

we have a shed built from 6@ concrete blocks and i want to paint it.

can i just use masonary paint or do i have to use something special?? I want the blocks to be able to breathe but not soak water in

Hi b12playa, I don't know about Wickes paint but I always use sandtex, http://www.sandtex.co.uk/planning/masonry.html (I've always found it cracking stuff, but I'm not a deccy). You will probably pay a bit more than for the Wickes stuff, but then again it'll probably give you better coverage - horses for courses.

its just i used wwickes stuff when i painted some rendering about 8yrs ago, which hasnt peeled, plus ive used other paint of theirs and had no problem

I want to also paint the whole house in the same color
