Hi,

I need the front of my house painted, its just the front and its painted from the top of the ground floor up, its not painted down the side or the back so its just the front. See pick of neighbours place but its same as mine http://img.findaproperty.com/gibbs-gillespie/pinner/dp110059930.jpg?v=7

I would do it myself with a ladder but the problem is the 1st floor bay window sticks out and is not flush to the front of the house so hard with ladder. If I get someone in to do this would it require scalfolding just to that bit, I noticed scafolding appears to be a min weeks higher, I recon I will need it just a day ?

If you decide to do this off a ladder make sure it is well secured, if you go onto google and type in ladder stand off's you could well find one that suits your purpose.

Is the top of the bay window flat? Could you step off a ladder on to it, or is it not big enough or safe enough?

One thought may be to use the ladder stand off, mine has a tray fitted, and then use an extension roller pole with a paint brush attachment. It is a bit of a fiddle, but I have done it before.

Use the more square bucket type paint pot on the tray, you turn the pole over with the brush on, dip it, then very carefully paint to the the top of the apex. When the edges are done, switch to a 4" small roller with a long pile roller sleeve. You need lots of patience to do it, or hire yourself a Cherry Picker machine. £240 notes for about 2 days hire !!!!
