Hi all,

Ive been painting some furniture lately, from ikea tables to pine store bedframes. Sanded, primed and painted with an cream dulux trade eggshell. The paint was waterbased not oil based and now I am having a crisis of confidence about the durability.

should I?

cover in some sort of lacquer to protect it (any advice to which)

paint over the top in oil based eggshell...

leave it - it should be fine?

any advice appreciated

Its not really the best as far as durability ( or finish ) goes but if youre preparation was meticulous then it should be ok .Theres nothing really that you can overcoat to make any difference, Id wait & see how theyve stood up to wear & tear in 6 months, if not to well then rub down and apply a coat or two of oil/solvent -based eggshell ;)
