painting greasy celiling...

Hello everyone.!

Had to paint my ceiling kitchen. I had PVAed to seal all the grease stuck to it, let it dry and them paint over it. To my syurprise the pva and the grease had melted together ant it didnt work out the way I wanted as the paint was add to the PVA + GREASE mix.

Any suggestion .?

PD. I d like to avoid replastering, just done shed load of it.

Dont use PVA its water-soluble so its no use trying to emulsion over it & its no use for coverin/sealing grease..
You need to sugarsoap the whole ceiling to remove grease , hopefully youll shift the PVA too..
