I have some doors for loft storage which have been resized from old cupboard doors. They've been sanded and I know I need to undercoat them with a paint for wood, but can I then paint them in Matt? I'd like to match them with the walls but the colour I've used doesn't come in a gloss paint...

I don't see a problem in applying a Matt over an undercoat, neither do I invisage a problem with poor adhesion.

However if you were to take a sample of your paint to a Trade Centre they could try and mix a shade that could match your walls.

getting the colour matched hadn't actually occurred to me! But I'm trying to keep things 'eco' as much as possible and I think that could be tricky in getting it matched at a trade centre as my experience has been that whilst Dulux does an 'ecosure' matt paint, I don't think they do the same with gloss... maybe someone would know different?

The Ecosure range does include among others both Gloss & Eggshell finishes.
