Painting MDF ???

Hi all,

What the best method to paint MDF? Ive just knocked up some shelves from MDF, and we would like to paint them white...

Should i prime it first? if so with?

We just want to paint it with white none glossy paint.

Give em a coat of either MDF primer or thinned down oil based undercoat, I prefer the latter as it doesnt raise the grain as much...then rub em down with 120 grade abrasive paper and give them a couple of coats of white eggshell using a foam glossing sleeve.
