Hi
I'm about to paint the inside of my porch which is just an exposed brick face. it has previously been painted at some point with emulsion which is now flaking off in places, and i'm wondering how best to proceed to ensure a good finish.
I've bought emulsion to do the job, and brushed the walls down to get most of the flaking paint off.
Should i give it a coat of PVA first? although in my experience emulsioning over the glossy pva finish may be tricky to get a good uniform finish... It may be that the bricks were not sealed in any way before it was previously painted which may be why it is flaking(??)
Or should I stick a bit of pva in the emulsion, to try and make it a bit more durable and 'adhesive'?
Any ideas/thoughts/suggestions would be gratefully received.
Thanks in advance.
