hi,

I have some knotty pine on ceiling and wall, they are all vanished.

I am planning to paint them. At the moment my guess is to:
sand down surface> primer > paint.

but i m thinking do i need to seal all the knots so that it doesn't seep through in the future?

thanks.

Here for sealing knots, they say one coat but I would go for 2 coats. Any diy store will have them.

thanks for the reply,

however there are too many knots.... i wonder is there any primer that can do both sealing and priming?

I don't think so, that why knotting is available for it. It's a very watery paint and easy to put on and shouldn't take too long to do.
