Hi all,

I bought a few small test paints from my local store, and I tried to use them on my bedroom wall. At first it was going on well, but as it started to dry it seemed to be flaking off.

I found a tin of paint in the garage that the people who lived in the house before me must have used, it was a Dulux Rich Matt paint.

Any advice on how to proceed? I used a scraper on a small section of the wall and it appeared to be taking the original paint off right back to the plaster, should I do this for the whole room or should I buy a primer or undercoat to put on top of the rich matt paint, or even just sand it down?

I'm pretty new to the whole painting thing so any advice would be great (and don't be afraid to dumb it right down! :D )

Thanks all.
