painting/sealing after skimming

Hiya - once the skimmed wall has dried, what should i do to seal it? Is watered down emulsion the way to go? How many coats before i apply my final proper surface paint, please? TIA xx

A mist coat. Matt emulsion with 10% water added.

Then normally just 2 coats of emulsion, depending on the brand.

A while back on here I was told its 50% water.... i've always done 30% water though. 10% sounds like not enough, and you risk the paint peeling later.....

Says 10% on the back of the emulsion that I use.
