Hi,

We have recently had a leaking roof fixed in our house. The roof felt had corroded and let water into the bathroom, just above our bathroom window.

As a result, some of the paint on the wood window frame has began to peel away from the wood.

I was wondering what is the best way to repair this problem?

Should I sand down the affected area and then use some of the bathroom paints in my local diy shop to paint directly onto the wood?

Thanks in advance.

I personally would use a heat lamp to burn off the paint from the window sill. then rub down and prepare, prime undercoat and gloss using normal oil based paints.
