Evening,
We had a little leak from the shower, this has now been fixed. I ended up painting the ceiling twice with damp seal. Where the brown marking was has gone, but every time I paint it keep showing again on edges of where I painted, any reasons why?
Why does the brown patch show somewhere else and not where it was originally?

Personally I've had great results from Zinsser Gardz primer, I wouldn't ever bother with a Thompsons product. I expect others will have an opinion though.

Cheers Freddie, but do you know why the browning still showing when it was showing on the edges from begging it was literally two little dots in the centre?

And if it does, what does this mean?
With the damp seal, you're creating an impervious layer to moisture.

I'm only guessing, and am happy to be corrected...

If nothing appears around the new patch, it may be that the repaired area still needs time to dry out; the residual moisture is finding its way out, to where it can evaporate off, leaving the mark.

If it does appear around the new patch, the issue may be due to something like condensation and is possibly unrelated to the leak.

Where the round circle which I have just added was where there was two drop marks. I painted the area but every time I paint the browning is showing on the edges. Worth painting it again or leave for few weeks? When touching the board does not feel

Can you run a dehumidifier in the room to help dry it out?
Plaster takes ages to dry out, especially at this time of year which has been wet and cold.
