I have the above machine which is suddenly asking for a password to allow me to
use the machine with a Freesat Bush recorder. (don't remember ever have set a password)
Have searched online and a simple solution is "Press and hold REC and PLAY buttons on the front of the TV
for 5 seconds" there are no buttons on the front of this Panasonic....help! (all I want to do is delete the password.)

Are you sure it's the TV asking for a password and not the Bush Freesat box?

Password protection on Freeview and Freesat recorders is quite common. Many of the Humax boxes I have installed have certain features password locked. The default passwords are often 0000,1234, 1111.

Password protection is less common on TVs unless some kind of child lock is engaged.

Many thanks Lucid (I hadn't thought of that!)
Will pursue that and let you know.
