I don't know if it works for Windows 7, but I know on XP, if you start in safe mode, you can go into an Administrator account (that isn't normally shown in normal startup) and go into User Profiles and change a password from there.

M Mickymoody 3 Sep 2010 #3 The OP's son wouldn't be the admin, so just log in as admin, and reset the password. Or boot up in safe mode, edit user accounts.. I think there is also a security question to remind you of the password? Easy peasy to bypass login password.
