Patch up under window

We recently had a new window installed. The old one has a horrible plastic trim around it, which the new one does not. I now have this small patch of wall that needs to be patched up.

Not entirely sure how to do it. I've attached some photos.

Would filler be sufficient.

It is a lathe and plaster wall, by the way.

To get the smooth finish you are doubtless seeking, (professional quality) plastering, rather than filler might be more appropriate.

Yeah, I was wondering whether it is too small a job for a plasterer to take. I usually find it hard to find a tradesman for small jobs, to be honest.

So you think the two options are filler or get a plasterer in?

You might find a "handyman" service which would be able to do a small job for a reasonable price, or you could you could try yourself using filler or plaster.
