Can anyone advise please? I've just taken out an old kitchen, which revealed several gaps in the asphalt floor (or is that bitumen?). The stuff in the gaps, which are the depth of the surrounding layer of asphalt, looks like a damp concrete mix. Can I just put asphalt straight into the gaps or is some preparation needed first? And is this a DIY or professional job? The gaps are about 3ftx 2ft each and there are 3 of them.
