Hi,

Old 1920's house - I'm re-doing a room. On the external wall with the window where a radiator was, I've taken off the loose plaster. Some bits need patching, under the window where the rad was, it's fallen off pretty easily to the brickwork.

Being an external wall I've bought hardwall to use. Can I just use a thin coat of hardwall (1cm ish) and when that's dried use bonding to bring it to the right depth, or should I use just hardwall and no bonding

thanks!

Why dont you post pics of the wall - context & close up. Typically, where there's more than a few loose patches then its time to re-plaster the wall.

Personally, i dont understand this need for bonding and hardwall. Sand and cement and a skim will cover most remedial situations.

Thanks, used just hardwall.

I've not got much experience with cement render i.e non so try and stick to plaster!

Question about bonding was i have bags of that and hardwall is a little more in cost.

Thanks anyway
