I have a section of exisiting brickwork where the plaster has come live and fallen off, I am also looking to plaster over these transom windows at the same time which have been boarded with drylining, this is an internal wall between the living room and hallway.

Would Hardwall or Bonding be best to repair this due to the different backgrounds?

Hardwall is for low suction like brick.
Can't be put on very thick.
Bonding is for more depth and building out.
Either can be used on most surfaces if you seal as that makes the surface low suction.

If I had a patch I'd use bonding.
If I had a large brick wall I'd use hardwall.
If I was patching a small area Id use either.
If I had some bonding and hardwall left I'd mix together and chuck in on a patch.
So to answer.
Either. Whatever.

I'd not really want to be putting over plasterboard. Why not fit the plasterboard to the correct level vs trying to level?

What's the plan with the wood? Can't plaster over that as will crack through

Thankyou for the advice, unfortunatly my original plan was to plaster over the timber.
I think I'll remove the current plasterboard and trim back the existing timber further and install the plasterboard sections flush with the existing wall. Then I'll use hardwall over the brick in the middle.
